Game On (or Off): New Game Access Settings for Admins

June 21, 2024

Hey There, District and School Admins!

We've got some exciting news that'll give you more control over your students' typing experience. Ready to level up your admin powers?

What's New?

You now have the ability to set game access for your entire school or district. That's right – you're the game master now!

How Does It Work?

This new feature allows you to decide which games are accessible to students across your entire school or district. You have three options to choose from:

  1. No restrictions (default): All games are accessible, including Nitro Type.

  2. Allow all games except Nitro Type: Students can play all typing games except Nitro Type.

  3. Disable all games: This setting turns off access to all typing games.

The games affected by these settings include:

  • Nitro Type

  • Type Toss

  • Type A Balloon

  • Z Type

  • Tommy Q

  • Keyboard Ninja

  • Keyboard Jump

Where Can I Find It?

Accessing these new settings is a breeze:

  1. Sign in to your account as your admin role (you may need to use the Role Switcher to access this, if you’re also a teacher).

  2. Click on your name in the top right corner to open the drop-down menu.

  3. Select 'Account.'

  4. Look for the 'Game Access Settings' section.

  5. Click ‘Update Preferences.’

It's that simple!

How Does It Help Me?

This new feature is a game-changer (pun intended!) for several reasons:

  • Flexibility: Easily adjust game access based on your curriculum or time of year. Want to focus on pure typing practice? Disable all games. Want to allow some fun but not Nitro Type? You've got that option too!

  • Consistency: Ensure a uniform learning experience across your school or district.

  • Time-saver: No need to set game access for each class individually.

Game On!

We're excited to see how you'll use this new feature to create the perfect typing environment for your students. Whether you choose to go all-in on games, keep things strictly business, or find a middle ground, the power is in your hands!

Have questions or feedback? We'd love to hear from you. Happy typing (and maybe gaming)!
