Great news, teachers! We've just rolled out a game-changing update to the Class Scoreboard that solves a frustrating limitation. Now, your students can view both the current week's progress and last week's results at any time. Let's dive into how this new feature enhances your students' typing journey!
What's Changed?
Previously, students could only see the current week's activity on their Class Scoreboard. This meant that come Monday morning, the scoreboard would be blank, wiping away all of last week's hard work. Students would have to remember to log in on Sunday to see how the week ended, or wait for you to update them on Monday.
Now, we've added a simple but powerful option: students can toggle between "This Week" and "Last Week" views on their Class Scoreboard. This means they can check out last week's results anytime during the current week, in addition to seeing the up-to-date "This Week" scoreboard they're already familiar with.
How Does It Work?
It's straightforward for your students to use:
-
They log into their Student Portal.
-
Navigate to the Class Scoreboard section.
-
Look for the new dropdown menu (typically near the top-right of the scoreboard).
-
Choose between "This Week" or "Last Week."
The scoreboard will instantly update to show the selected time period's stats. Students can easily switch back and forth to compare their progress.
Where Can You Find It?
This new feature is available right now in your students' portals. Want to see it in action? Simply log in as one of your students and check out their Class Scoreboard view.
How Does It Help Your Students?
This new toggle brings several benefits to your classroom:
-
Continuous Visibility: No more Monday morning blank slates. Students can always see last week's results, even after the reset.
-
Improved Progress Tracking: Students can compare their current performance to last week's, fostering a growth mindset.
-
Increased Motivation: Seeing last week's results can inspire students to set new goals for the current week.
-
Flexible Review: Students don't have to remember to log in on Sunday to see their weekly progress.
-
Independence: Students can check their progress without waiting for your Monday morning update.
Empowering Student Reflection and Goal-Setting
With this new feature, you're giving your students a powerful tool for self-assessment and goal-setting. They can see who made the biggest improvements from week to week, and who maintained consistent progress over time.
We're excited to see how this enhancement to the Class Scoreboard will help you motivate your students to reflect on their progress and set new typing goals each week. Remember, you can emphasize that the focus is on individual growth and improvement, not just on being the fastest typist in the class.
We'd love to hear how this new Class Scoreboard feature impacts your students' engagement and progress in developing their typing skills. Here's to building essential digital literacy, with a clearer view of progress week by week!
