Exciting Updates for Typing.com Teachers!

Hey there, Typing.com teachers! We've been hard at work behind the scenes, and we're thrilled to share some fantastic new updates that'll make your life easier and your students' learning experience even better. Let's dive into the exciting changes we've made!

1. Revamped "Add a Class" Process

We've given our class creation system a major overhaul. Now, when you click on "Add Class,” you can create multiple classes at once!

Add Class

Simply enter the class name, add an optional period, and select the curriculum from the dropdown menu. Need more classes? Just click "Add another class" and keep going. When you're done, hit "Create," and voila – your new classes will appear in your class list, complete with a blue "New" tag for easy identification.

For classes with no students, we've added a handy "Add Students" button right in the class list. This ensures you never forget to populate your newly created classes.

Add Students

Those of you using roster syncing to manage your classes will see a handy reminder at the start of the Add Class flow to sign into that roster service to create classes, unless you want to create a class manually in Typing.com.

2. Class Average Line in Student Reports

You might have noticed a new addition to your reports – a nifty vertical dotted line representing your class’s average typing speed. This new feature lets you see at a glance where each student falls – above or below your class average – for the particular report content you’re viewing.

Class Average Line

To check it out, simply navigate to either Student Activity Summary or Tests Summary reports for any of your classes and view the Graph tab. You'll see a blue dotted line indicating the class average for WPM, Accuracy, or Time Spent Typing.

This new feature is a game-changer for quickly evaluating your students’ performance, letting you easily identify which students are falling above or below the class average. It's a great tool for tailoring your teaching approach and ensuring every student gets the support they need.

3. Streamlined Google Classroom Assignments

Last but not least, we've tweaked our Assignment creation process, making it more intuitive for those of you who use Google Classroom. In the past, the Google Sync option used to appear at the start of the process, making it easy to miss and potentially confusing as it could be selected without any Google Classrooms being selected.

GC Assignment Sync

Now the Google Sync option only appears after you’ve actually selected one or more Google Classrooms to receive that Assignment. The sync status will also default to "on," making it even easier to breeze through the Assignment creation process.

Wrapping Up

We're always looking for ways to make Typing.com work better for you and your students. These updates are just the beginning – we've got plenty more in store!

Have you had a chance to try out any of these new features yet? We'd love to hear your thoughts! And if you have any questions or feedb
